The prayer
Lord, my heart is heavy, and I don't have the words. But You are nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, so I know You are near to me right now.
You heal the broken in heart and bind up their wounds. Bind up mine. Touch the places in me that hurt the most.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? I will hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him. Even when I can't feel it, I choose to trust that You are still my God.
Jesus, You said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. I come to You now, just as I am. Give me rest.
Father of mercies and God of all comfort, comfort me in this trouble. Send people to walk with me, and one day let me comfort others the way You comforted me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
