How to study a passage
Five simple steps. Have your notebook, pen and highlighter ready.
Step 1: Pray
Ask the Lord to open your understanding before you read.
Step 2: Read it slowly
Read the passage twice. Highlight what stands out to you.
Step 3: Write what it says
In your notebook: who, what, where, when. Just what the passage says.
Step 4: Look closer
Tap the small footnote letters. Tap a word for the Hebrew or Greek. Compare Scripture with Scripture.
Step 5: Write what it means for you
One thing to believe and one thing to do. Pray it back to God.
